2024 Meet Me in the Street Recap

The Meet Me in the Street fair series has become the biggest event in American Canyon! Over the last four years, it has grown to bring in literally thousands of people, not only from American Canyon, but throughout Napa Valley and beyond!

The Arts Foundation has been there from the beginning, and we are proud to sponsor the program. Now that it has concluded its 2024 season, here’s a recap of our involvement.

Latin Celebration

The American Canyon Art Foundation was pleased to sponsor 2 local Hispanic Dance and Culture groups, to entertain attendees at Meet Me In the Street on July 10th! July is Hispanic Heritage month, and we celebrated with Los Diablos Oaxaquenos del Valle, dancing with traditional costumes and music from Oaxaca, and the dance students from the Moon Azteca School. Thanks to the ACAF Board for recruiting our Hispanic dancers, and the Napa County Arts and Culture Committee for the generous grant which helps bring cultural performances to American Canyon!  

Informational Booths

We also took advantage of the crowds to promote our members and events. Although it was incredibly cold for the June event, Debbie Casper (Miss Debbie) and Sebastien Pridmore were there, promoting their art and classes. July was much hotter, and Karen Brorby, amongst others, was there promoting the Arts Foundation and our new Art Classes (and she passed along a half dozen prospects to Miss Debbie!) And August brought Laura Keiser and her Paint Party opportunities. She also provided kids the chance to do a little painting as well.

We didn’t have any balloon animals, be we did have a pre-Halloween theme, thanks to member David Krause!
