Student Art Competition – Updates
More information is now available on the Student Art Competition. First, the “Call For Art” is now available, along with the online entry form. We have also updated the flyer.
Here’s the link to the Call For Art. The important points to remember are 1) there is not charge to enter, but you are limited to one entry per person. 2) You will need to upload a digital copy of your artwork, along with the online entry form. This is how the artwork will be judged. 3) The deadline to enter your art is Friday, April 18, 2025, at 5pm. The winners will be announced at a reception in Supervisor Belia Ramos’ American Canyon office (at City Hall, 4381 Broadway Street) on Wednesday, May 7. The exact time of the reception has not yet been confirmed–check back later.
The winners of this contest will have their artwork on display in Supervisor Ramos’ office and will receive the following:
- First place, $500
- Second place, $250
- Third place, $100
- There will also be a “people’s choice” award of $50. We’ll have a post about that later.
In addition to the cash scholarships, each student that enters will be given a free one-year student membership to the American Canyon Arts Foundation. Also, we plan to display the artwork submitted in one or more art shows in the community. More details on that later.
