Student Art Contest Results

On Wednesday, May 7, we held our reception at Supervisor Ramos’ office at City Hall. At that time, we announced the results of the first Student Art Contest. The office was packed with mostly students and community members. Light appetizers were served.

First Place went to Aidan Agtarap, from American Canyon Middle School (ACMS), for his work entitled “Still Life.” Second Place went to American Canyon High School (ACHS) student, Carlos Robles, for his photography “A Walk in the Sunset.” This photo also was awarded “People’s Choice.” Third place went Alejandro Alvarado for his painting “Island View.”

Although this was the first art show in partnership with Supervisor Ramos, it will not be the last. Our intent is to host a Spring and Fall Contest, with the next reception planned for November of this year. The winning artwork will be temporarily installed in Ramos’ office.

We are also working with the County Library and Chamber of Commerce to showcase the art even after the contest. All the details remain to be worked out, but the goal is to ensure the artwork is seen by as many people as possible.
