Ukulele Jam a Big Success

It started as one of our “Third Thursdays” event, but it outgrew the room. So we upsized and rented the Multi-Purpose Room at the Mikolajcik Center. On Friday, May 1, we had a great turnout (50-60 people) for our Ukulele Jammers concert.

This free event was a combination concert and sing-along, with plenty of food to enjoy. Hits from The Beatles to Elvis Presley, the show was entertaining and well received. Even our Mayor, Pierre Washington and his wife, Cherylynn, were there.

For several months, the Arts Foundation has hosted regular jamming sessions for local Ukulele players. Rowena and Willie Pagtakhan have been the driving force behind this effort, and last Friday was the culmination.
