Workshops Scheduled for Parol Festival and Competition
Our annual Parol (Lantern) Festival and Competition will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Napa Junction Community Center Multi-Purpose Room, (300 Napa Junction Road, American Canyon) from 4:30 to 7:30pm. We will have hand made Parols on display, along with an art show, themed “Christmas in the Philippines.” There will be music, food and refreshments. All for free, and the public is invited.
This event is a partnership between the American Canyon Arts Foundation and the FilAm Club of American Canyon, funded in large part by a grant from Napa County’s Arts & Culture Advisory Committee.
For those of us who are not expert Parol makers, we will host a number of workshops during November, all at Room 5 of the Napa Junction Community Center. Each workshop will be from 10am to noon:
- Saturday, November 9
- Saturday, November 23; and
- Saturday, November 30.
After you have learned the ropes, you’re encouraged to enter your finished product. It’s free and prizes will be provided. Click here to enter online.
